Yes, upon early check-in if a room is not available you may check your luggage with Front Service/Bellman for a small fee, as well as upon check-out. We do not offer overnight storage. Please keep in mind that due to limited space storage is not always available and/or a short wait may be necessary depending on volume.
Yes, we have valet parking. We'll put the charge directly on your hotel bill. Our valet charges are as follows:
Standard Vehicle -- $55 per day
Oversized Vehicle (SUV, crossover) -- $65 per day
*Please note Parking does not include In and Out privileges, and no super-sized vehicles are accepted. Parking at The Hotel Edison is valid for 24 hours, with a full-day charge applied after 24 hours. The parking ticket must be validated at the front desk.
Package handling is provided for a charge. Boxes or packages under 25 lbs or 11 kg are handled for $5 per package. Boxes or packages over 25 lbs or 11 kg, but no heavier than 50 lbs or 23 kg, are handled for $10 per package. Boxes or packages over 50 lbs or 23 kg will be charged at $25 per item for handling.
Please direct mailed packages to 233 West 46th Street, New York, NY, 10036. Packages may arrive no earlier than 7 days prior to your stay. The packages must be kept in your guestroom once you arrive. For everyone's safety, if the package does not have a registered guest name, then it will be returned to sender.

We are located just steps from Times Square and in the center of the Theater District – it's an ideal location to be in New York City. We have two entrances/exits – our main entrance/exit is on W. 47th St. and we have a back entrance/exit on W. 46th St. making it very convenient whether going or coming from uptown or downtown. We are steps from subway and bus stops, restaurant row on 46th St., 2 ½ blocks from 5th Ave. shopping, St. Patrick's Cathedral, walking distance to Macy's, Central Park, Intrepid Museum, Penn Station, Grand Central Station, Hell's Kitchen local NYC neighborhood, MoMA, quick subway ride to SOHO, Lower Manhattan, Natural History Museum, Metropolitan Museum and many other museums such as the Guggenheim and Morgan. In other words, the Hotel Edison is in the heart of Manhattan.
We have no specific recommendation. Coming through/out of the Lincoln Tunnel follow the signs for 42nd St. Make a left to 10th Ave. Make a right onto 10th Ave and drive up to 48th St. where you will make a right onto 48th St. Take 48th straight over to Broadway or 7th Ave. and make a right one block to 47th St. Another right and you will see the Hotel Edison on your left center block.
Upstate New York by car:
Taking the Henry Hudson Parkway, hence West Side Highway is advisable in order to avoid cross-midtown traffic from the East side. Coming from the North, heading South on the West Side Highway take the 48th St. Exit, (Exit left) onto 48th St. Continue on 48th St as described above from New Jersey.
Yes, we do. Our ADA rooms are equipped with a telephone with visual call alert, communication kits (upon request), light/lamp push button control, closet bars/shelves lowered, accessible path of travel around queen bed, multi-level door viewers. Our ADA accessible bathrooms feature grab bars in shower, roll-in shower, hand-held shower wand, low level towel hooks and racks.
We do not own any specialty medical equipment. We suggest guests with mobility needs rent from an area medical supply company.
Yes. However, due to a limited number, connecting rooms must be requested and are not guaranteed.
No, the Hotel Edison is a smoke free property. We do apply a charge/penalty if guests smoke in our rooms.
The hotel does not offer mini bars at this time. Some of our Signature Suites and Signature Suites with Terrace/Kitchenette are equipped with mini refrigerators.

We require a deposit for incidentals at the time of check-in. Should you wish to use your credit card, a deposit of $100 USD will be required at check-in. Incidentals will be replenished on a nightly basis as needed. For cash payments, we require a deposit of $250. This deposit is refundable upon check-out. Please note that when using your debit card for deposit, it can take 2-4 weeks after departure for some individual banks to release the hold on your funds.

The Hotel Edison was completed in 1931. The hotel lights were originally turned on by Thomas Edison by remote control (on opening day) from his home in Menlo Park, New Jersey.
The hotel has two entrances. Our suggestion for sightseeing and tour pick-up and drop off would be the hotel's 46th Street entrance, which is often less congested.
