Our home for 10 ...

Our home for 10 nights! We were satisfied with this hotel and would stay again. The room was big enough for us and we mostly just slept there. Housekeeping was great & my other interactions with staff were positive. We were a little surprised to find we had to reserve a refrigerator and as others have commented, the bathrooms are tight! The beds and TV were good & the gym was great! We were disappointed it was so easy for our kids to purchase movies and I only discovered this $100 USD down! We used the breakfast vouchers for 'Grab and Go' which was just OK, good for a quick coffee and bite to eat. We dined in once and found it a little overpriced for what it was. If you want to stay in Times Square and don't mind hoards of people, sirens, music and more, go for it!

Over all, a great ...

Over all, a great place to stay because of its amazing location. Our stay was good but also had some bad parts to it. Firstly, we booked flights+hotel through Loveholidays so when we first arrived at the hotel, we were surprised to be asked for $642 in facilities fees for 2 bedrooms/7 nights ADDITIONAL to the money we already paid for the rooms. Our group knew NY hotels charge these fees BUT during the 6 months leading to our trip, we were never informed we owed these. The receptionist also said these are compulsory but upon checking online forums, people say they are not?... Anyways, after paying, our 2 rooms were not in the same floor and worst of, one of these was VERY outdated; hinges in the doors were rusty, very dark room and just small. Once we raised this though, Jennifer was very kind and helpful and sorted out a better room in the same floor as the other one. Throughout our stay, everything else was GREAT though. The cleaning staff are so sweet and friendly, the concierge are fun to speak with and very friendly too. We didn't get to use ANY of the facilities we paid for as we were out all the time but that's fine. The 'free' breakfast we got was also basic but good enough to sustain us till lunch. Unfortunately, on our last day, I woke up to a £360 failed charge to my bank at 4am. Strangely the charge was in british pounds and 2 different reception staff could not explain it. This has made me a bit uneasy. My rating is high though because the individual member of staffs we encountered made the trip lovely.
