I have stayed here ...

I have stayed here off and on for years. One time I stayed a month. I used to love the cafe there. U always saw dancers and musicians from Broadway for lunch or soup. I work for a publishing house and the famous playwright August Wilson lived here. There have been changes but the worst is the little bar and restaurant at the entrance. What a disappointment but the worst thing they had a couple of empty tables but no bar seats. I even said we would be out in 20 minutes 4 drinks three snacks but Noooooooooooooo. I went over to a couple and bought them two drinks and gave them my work text to let me know if the seats get filled. They didn’t. I work for a huge communication company. Just like everything else in NYC. Another one bites the dust.

We just spent a ...

We just spent a week at the Hotel Edison, checked in on December 18th and left on the 25th. Location wise, the hotels in close proximity to everything happening in Times Square which is great. However, my review on the hotel overall, not so great. We initially booked 6 nights in a classic room, changed our flights and added a 7th night in a signature room at the beginning of our trip. When we got to the hotel we informed the front desk as we were instructed to do so, so we didn't have to move rooms after the first night. The front desk person told me he would put us in a signature for the full stay at no extra charge, instead he put us in a classic for the full stay. The classic room is awful, the rooms are tiny and very dated and miss most amenities you would see in every typical hotel room anywhere else. The heat in the room broke twice, housekeeping came in to service the room and just put on the same old sheets and comforter that was already on there, no fridge, microwave, coffee options, no where to even put a bar of soap in the shower. We went downstairs and upgraded to a suite and again the room was very dated and still missing many amenities although the room was much nicer than the previous. As far as hotel staff goes, some of the women on the front desk were great to deal with, but there are 2 men on that front desk who are just angry and plain rude, it's honestly hard to watch them deal with folks staying there, which is something you have to watch because for 1000 rooms they only ever have 2 people on the front desk so you get used to lining up for up to an hour and watching all the interactions. Anyways, not impressed, won't be back.
