This is my MIL's go to hotel when visiting NYC, though I'm not sure why. It is packed every time we stay and there's always a long wait for desk service. I suspect this is due to the location because the rooms are very minimalist - there is no coffee and very few amenities. They do offer coupons for some of the restaurants downstairs, though on a very limited menu. There have always been noise issues (loud guests on the floor or noise from Time Square) and I'm never particularly impressed when we stay here compared to other hotels. During this visit, there was a very off-putting moldy/mildewey smell on our floor.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years, and on this visit I was disappointed. The room I booked was not at all like the photos on their website. Although it was the same layout as the photos, my room looked like it had not been updated in 30 years. The A/C did not work the three nights we were there. The "free breakfast" is not free since you have to pay $6.50 to sit down at a table. Why not just charge for the meal rather than say it's free? The location is perfect for Broadway theaters. The staff are New York friendly. Overall I probably will not stay there again.

Don't use the ATM. My debit card was compromised and that's the only place I used it in NYC. I've left a message with the hotel manager. Hopefully they take this seriously. The hotel itself was fine. My bed was comfortable and I wasn't facing a street. The bathroom was very small, not even a place to hang a hand towel or a bath towel.
