Great location, but very small rooms and minimal space for clothes.

Pros: Very central location, ...

Pros: Very central location, walking distance to everything, free grab and go breakfast or sit down breakfast for an additional $5 charge. The sit down option was well worth it and the food was very good. Room service was attentive and restocked our room every day, very polite staff, good tight security to get to the elevators, room was clean and water restocked every day. The elevators were more than sufficient for the property and we never waited more than a few seconds to get one. Best elevator experience in my extensive hotel experience. Cons: Air conditioner was quite loud and I did not appreciate the $8 charge for each package that arrived, but NYC is like that, you pay for everything. Overall, based on my experiences in Manhattan, the Edison has been one of my nicer stays. Hotel rooms are almost always small and if you are not 20+ stories high you will never have a view. The hotel suited my needs and budget and the location priceless.

Overall the rooms were ...

Overall the rooms were clean, but we ended up in an older room which was updated a bit, everything felt so dark and gloomy Was good for just a place to sleep, but did not want to spend a lot of time in there. My sisters ended up on the higher floors with more updated furnishings. We stayed for 4 nights, and housekeeping only came once despite leaving the sign out before leaving for the day. The staff at the front were very nice. Unfortunately they could not locate me near my sister’s rooms. They were on the 22nd floor, and we were placed on the 5th. We booked at the same time, for the same price, but my sister got a bottle of wine and chocolates in her room. Loved the options for free breakfast, there are sit down options for an additional fee, or free grab and go breakfast at the restaurants nearby. Carve was by far the better free option. I would recommend people to stay here if they plan to just be out and about all day, lots of places were walking distance. It was very dark and secluded if you do not get a room with a view.
