We just left from ...

We just left from a stay at Hotel Edison and it was wonderful. Very quiet, clean, and beautiful. The doorman was so kind and pleasant. When leaving he was shaking hands with someone. As he loaded our luggage in a cab he told us the person he was shaking hands with was the owner. He said he is an amazing and caring person to work for. The trip was for our 10 year old son and he loves historic and old kind of “fancy” hotels. He loved this one! The grab and go breakfast was wonderful. We ate dinner the first night at Friedman’s and heard the Gayle Rose Broadway performers. They were wonderful! It was great to just go downstairs and eat a great dinner without having to leave the hotel. High recommend Hotel Edison!

The good and the ...

The good and the bad. The good: -half a block from time square and all the subway stations are around. -free grab and go breakfast is an egg and cheese sandwich with either a croissant or yogurt and water or juice or coffee. EXCELLENT breakfast for being free. -$6.50 for a variety of breakfast in the Friedman’s restaurant which is inside the hotel. You can get 2 eggs, potatoes, and a drink. Also, you can choose French toast or yogurt with cereal. If you choose anything else, you can be charged for it. Example: hot chocolate $7. The bad: -you have to pay $1 per luggage of your check out and want them to hold your bags. -since you are half a block from time square, it is pretty noisy from inside the room, but we passed out from walking so much. I would definitely stay there again with my wife and 3 kids.

Hotel Edison has been ...

Hotel Edison has been a staple of Times Square since its opening in 1931, when Thomas Edison turned on the lights of the hotel himself. The historic hotel is among the first Art Deco hotels in New York City’s Theater District and has become synonymous with celebrity, art, and excitement over the past eight decades. Hotel Edison’s vibrant energy, spacious accommodations, and notable restaurants and jazz bar provide guests with a one-of-a-kind refuge in the heart of Times Square, within steps of Midtown Manhattan’s premier business and leisure destinations including Time Warner Center, Rockefeller Center, MoMA, and world-renowned Fifth Avenue Shops.
