Overall the hotel is ...

Overall the hotel is pretty decent. The bed isn't nearly as comfortable as I would have hoped. The biggest frustration is that this hotel looks to nickel and dime you to death throughout your entire stay. Sure, the room price isn't bad, but you have to pay for an extra dinner at the hotel. Plus you have to pay if you want breakfast. Plus if you want good Wi-Fi it's an extra $5 a day. And don't forget that if you want the complimentary a bottle of water, it's not complimentary, it's $3. This is why I usually stay at a Marriott, where you get all of these features and you don't have to pay extra for them. While the room was fine, all of these extra charges have inspired me to not stay at a Hilton next time.

I had a wonderful ...

I had a wonderful 5-star stay at the Hotel Edison. The service and location were the absolute highlights of my trip, both earning a perfect 5-star rating for their excellence and convenience. The rooms were also very high-quality and comfortable, earning a solid 4/5. Being right in the heart of everything with such attentive staff made for a truly memorable New York experience.

I don't usually write ...

I don't usually write reviews but after reading poor reviews I frlt compelled to do so. We just stayed there (February 2026) and have stayed there a few other times. The location at 47th and Broadway is excellent. Security is excellent, checking room keys to get to elevators and checking for room or luggage key to wait in lobby lounge. Staff are not exuberant but polite, respectful and efficient. They have a job to do. You get vouchers for breakfast, $6.95. Guests recieve vouchers for a $6.95 breakfast. It can get busy so get there a little early. "Yes" the menu is limited to four choices but the food is good and considering that a coffee from Starbucks is $6.00, we have no complaints. We love the greek yogurt with granola. Each time we have stayed there the room and bathroom were immaculate, heat worked, hot water was good, towel size so-so, rug clean, comfortable bed, nice sheets and pillows. "Yes" the rooms and bathrooms are small and there was only one nightable with lamp BUT the hotel was built in 1931!!!! Try a national, chain hotel for larger rooms and bathrooms if size is your priority! We always get a pretty good rate. My only complaint is the $40.00 "facility fee" but Mayor Mamdani is targeting hotel junk fees so it might be eliminated in the future. Even with the "cozy" rooms we will go back.
