This hotel is beautiful, ...

This hotel is beautiful, in the perfect location for Midtown and Time Square. The rooms are newly refurbished and quiet, the elevators are fast and the coupons for breakfast are a good deal, especially the sit-down options. I booked this hotel for the art deco vibes for my 40th birthday. We came to town to see a show and do some silly tours with my husband and kids. Issue. I booked a Signature 2 queen room; upon booking on their website, you are given the option of being offered better rooms for an additional fee if available. I did select a couple options; I was not notified of any changes to my room or rate. Prior to check-in, I did notice (not alerted, I looked up my reservation myself) that our rooms had been changed to a Marquee 2 Queen room (super nice, on the highest floor, prettier décor and a pull-out couch), our room rate on the invoice was the same as my original booking. Upon check-in at the front desk, we were given our key cards and were told that our stay had been selected to have an upgrade from the signature room to a marquee room, the 2 front desk attendants made it sound so exciting. Again, the room was beautiful, we stayed 2 nights and we did all we wanted to do. I received the email for the e-checkout process, and I found that each night was charged an additional $120 (plus the adjusted tax/fees). I was surprised cause nothing alerted me to the rate change. I went to the Front Desk, spoke with the manager, Juan, he seemed evasive, and told me that the front desk attendees who checked me in failed to give me an updated invoice. I questioned why nothing alerted me to the rate change and he could not give me an answer. He told me since we stayed in that room, we have to pay that room rate, but he could refund me the $40 per night resort fee. I do not handle these kinds of scenarios well, I almost started crying because he did not seem to understand why, as a customer, I was frustrated. I had such a great weekend, but this tainted quite a bit for me, I was not notified as a customer of the increase in price, it all felt very sneaky. I do recommend staying at this hotel, just pay attention to what they charge you and make sure they hand you an invoice upon check-in. I am coming to NYC again for a show in August/2026, I will not be staying here, which is a bummer, it is lovely.

Spent two nights here ...

Spent two nights here while in NY. While I knew we were close to Times Square, I didn’t fully grasp that the hotel was 1/2 block away from Times Square. It was the perfect accident and was great to be close to everything. The other accident was booking in NY during the World Cup and one week after the Knicks won the NBA Finals. The vibe of the entire city was electric. Will never forget this experience.

Overall my experience at ...

Overall my experience at hotel Edison was a pleasurable one where I could kind of see the vision of the hotel. In total, I went to NYC for this couple of days in the week and those couple of days in the week were experiences, Thanks. The food provided nice, and the rooms were provided nice (With the exception of a large bathroom, but we were provided with an umbrella, iron, and mini fridge so I guess that’s ok) Provided. The hotel is right near Times Square and is easy to access the subways. Much cheaper than Ubers (Provided nice). The staff were also very nice (We were locked out of our room but that is okay because they provided Wine) . Thank you hotel. Edison
