The Edison has many things going for it as an optimal spot to stay while in NYC. Perfect , I mean PERFECT location, literally in the heart of theater, nightlife, restaurants, food carts, shops, and the people of Times Square. Easy check in, convenient grab and go breakfast, Tuesday and Friday night receptions with live music, and a more reasonable priced accommodation for NYC. Yes, for the most part. Security by elevators seemed a little stiff and officious, probably a good thing, but if we stopped to engage with them , they were kind and helpful while still being rather stiff. Only experience was grab and go breakfast. It was a very nice perk for staying there. SUGGESTION: Let guests choose between egg sandwiches or yogurt and then choose two of fruit, juice, coffee, or crescent. The Edison management must know how fortunate 🍀 they are to have MARCOS at the front desk. After retirement from school teaching, I worked for 7 years as a representative for a student travel company in NYC and DC which required much time working with front desk. I would place Marcos at the top of the list of people I ever met. He is welcoming, delightful, smart, efficient, personable, humorous, kind, calm, accommodating, and just plain smooth. And that wasn’t just with us . He worked 7 of the 8 days we stayed and I saw him helping other guests in the exact same manner we were treated. You never want to lose a dedicated employee like Marcos. I would pay him more money to share his wisdom and approach with the newly hired. There are many reasons I will return to Edison but MARCOS is at the top of the list. Additionally , the lady who cleaned our room (1929 from 9/18 — 9/26) is efficient, perceptive, and kind. She is another gem for the Edison team. We saw her almost every morning and were ALWAYS greeted with a warm, sweet smile and genuine welcoming words. When you are 2800 miles from home , it is nice to feel welcomed! I never asked her name but I wish I knew it because she , too, deserves recognition for being a TOP NOTCH employee at the Edison. Find out who she is and give the lady a raise! 😉 She is a keeper.
