Charming Art Deco hotel ...

Charming Art Deco hotel that's just a walk away from most Broadway shows. With two decent restaurants and coupons for quite a few options for breakfast and more.

I came to NY ...

I came to NY for a solo weekend trip for Mother’s Day/my 40th birthday/the anniversary of my fathers death and it was a big deal for me to venture out on my own and treat myself. The hotel is good, as long as nothing goes wrong. I checked in to a nice room, but the toilet was leaking all over the floor. I needed to use the toilet and shower after a near 12 hour day of traveling from Florida so instead of waiting for maintenance I opted to move rooms. This is when things took a turn. They moved me into a way less nice room and obviously I wasn’t happy about it. I went downstairs yet again and spoke with a manager who was rude to me and told me “I’m not going to keep moving you” like this was a me problem and I was inconveniencing the hotel and not the other way around. I was moved to another room which was fine but still nothing like the first, but by this point after the way he spoke to me I was pretty upset (and starving). I called and left a message for the GM who never called or reached out. The rest of the stay was fine. Random outlets didn’t work. I needed an iron and waited 30 minutes for one when I was trying to make a show. It’s a nice hotel in a great location. But their customer service, if any kinks arise, falls apart. I would not stay here again. Oh. And that manager scowled at me the next time he saw me. So that was cool as a woman traveling alone.
